Judith Rush is the Director of Mentor Externship at the University of St. Thomas School of Law

After 15 years of solo practice in the ethics, professional responsibility, appellate, and family law areas, and 18 years of teaching, I have left private practice to place both feet in academia. I have the great fortune to be able to combine my love of the legal profession and teaching, my commitment to ethics and professionalism, my practice experience, and my experience in the disciplinary system for the benefit of St. Thomas’ law students—the future of the profession. I am able to keep my fingers on the pulse of the ethics of the legal profession as Chair of the Minnesota Lawyers Professional Responsibility Board, and my private work as an expert witness. I retain my connection to my friends and colleagues as an active participant in local, state, and national bar associations, and by staying in touch with my mentor and other colleagues.
